Facilities

Camp Gideon’s facilities are excellent places for times of fellowship, learning and worshipping together.  Providing a wonderful get-away from the busy of city life, our two lodges are set well back on the property away from noisy roads and the bright lights of the city, allowing for fantastic views of the stars at night, sunsets and the amazing variety of God’s creation.

Waterslide
A one-of-its-kind Camp Gideon original, our waterslide is one of the highlights of the Summer Camp experience.  Beginning 12 years ago as a sheet of plastic on the hill in behind the Wilson Building, the Waterslide has transformed into a fast, water-filled, fun flop, with a soaking wet tunnel-tube, spraying slick-slide and a nine foot long by six feet wide by two foot deep splash zone.  Chlorinated and regularly cleaned, the Waterslide has become a place for splash contests, speed races and trick competitions.

  • Fishing (bring your own equipment please)

Hiking Trails
Providing miles of beautiful hiking trails, Camp Gideon has both short treks as well as lengthy loops for the more adventurous hiker.  With 187 acres of land through forests, prairies, marshes, rolling hills and around our lake, there is plenty to keep the nature enthusiast occupied.

RV and Camping
  • Variety of camping sites with fire pits available either close to buildings and bathrooms or out of site of civilization
  • Full electric and water RV/Camper hook-ups

BBQ Pit
Extra large sized and fully portable, this was just created between 2003/2004 by our camp property manager, Leonard Carpenter and can easily feed large groups relatively quickly.

Capture the Flag
With challenging hills, long stretches of open flat land, numerous small groups of trees, clusters of buildings and numerous trails, Camp Gideon is known for some of the best Capture the Flag in the history of the game.  Easily adaptable boundaries to match group size allow all to participate.  The huge bell outside of the Wilson Building is great for signaling jailbreaks and the beginning and ending of this classic game.

Outdoor Stage/Amphitheatre
Providing a breath-taking view of the sunset over the valley and lake, the outdoor stage has a backstage entrance, elevated wooden platform, safety railing, and sloped, grassy seating, as well as lighting for night programming.
